Taking a Leave of Absence

You have all been such faithful followers and encouragers that I wanted to let you know that I will not be posting to my blog for awhile. Following my post last Saturday evening, my husband suffered a rather serious stroke on Sunday morning, was in ICU for three days and was just moved to a step down unit.  He is still in a precarious state for further injury and will need a lot of inpatient rehab.

As I am staying with him round the clock, I will not be creating and posting for a bit.  At odd times, I do hope to be able to still visit your blogs. Please feel free to email me anytime.  Hoping to be back soon.

Hugs, Yvonne

Going Fast

Greetings everyone!  I am a bit late with my post today.  My dear husband, as some of you know, has been battling a very severe health issue for over a decade, and these past few months have been particularly challenging.  That aside, I am happy to share with you my latest post for the newest challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where the theme is "Anything Goes!"  It was a good excuse to pull out some new stamps from Paper Artsy and a new stencil from Tim Holtz!  I began by smooshing Distress Inks on my Craft Mat, spritzing with water and pulling by card front through the puddles of inkiness.  The images were stamped with Black StazOn Ink onto the inked card front.  The sentiments by Artistic Outpost were stamped onto scrap card stock, edged with a black pen and added to the card front.  Using one of Tim's newest stencils, I added a bit of Mowed Lawn Distress Paint to Embossing Paste and pushed it through the stencil.  Embellishments include Black Liquid Pearls, Chit Chat Stickers and Idea-ology Mini Gears.  I hope you will pop over to FSC to check out the rest of the Design Team's gorgeous inspiration pieces and then submit one of your own for a possible gift voucher for $20 from our generous sponsor, FlonzCraft.  Thank you for dropping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Think and Wonder

Greetings!  In my quest to join in on challenges beyond my various Design Team responsibilities, I am submitting the canvas above for three Challenges, two of which are about to close!  The first is for the challenge over at Simon Says Monday Challenge where the challenge is to create something using something you love.  I chose to create my canvas using this focal image that I love from Artistic Outpost.  The second challenge is over at Our Creative Corner where the challenge is to create a project using Blue, Brown and Purple with no Black, hence my chosen color pallete. And finally, as all the images and sentiments I have used  are from Artistic Outpost, I am entering my canvas in the Artistic Outpost February Referral Program.  I began with a blank canvas, spritzed it with water and then applied Distress Paint in Dusty Concord, Gathered Twigs, Chipped Sapphire, Vintage Photo, Broken China, Antique Linen and Seedless Preserves.  Next I stamped the focal image by Think and Wonder with Timber Brown StazOn Ink onto tissue paper and adhered it with Glue & Seal.  Other images from Generation Redux and Polaroid Cutie were stamped around the edges of the canvas. White Embossing Paste, by Dreamworks, was tinted with Chipped Sapphire Distress Paint and stenciled through several Tim Holtz Stencils. The sentiments, from Think and Wonder, were stamped onto scrap card stock, distressed with Vintage Photo and Broken China Distress Ink, trimmed and adhered to the canvas.  Some paper string in brown, by Ideaology was twirled into circles and adhered, completing my canvas. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Hugs, Yvonne

Learning without Imagination...

Greetings!  The Pink Team is up for the new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu, where the challenge is to create a project that is "Anything but a Card."  As most of my followers know, I am a card maker!  So,a challenge it was and is for me!  I decided to create a tag.  I adhered a vintage dictionary page onto a jumbo tag and then sprayed it with a variety of Dylusion Spray.  The focal images and sentiment, by Lost Coast Design, were inked with Black StazOn Ink, water colored with Distress Ink, trimmed and adhered to the tag front.  A smattering of black embossing paste stenciled with a Tim Holtz Stencil, and some Ideaology Mirrored Stars and black Dresden Trim by Red Lead complete my tag.  I hope you will stop over to Eclectic Ellapu to be inspired by the rest of the Design Team and then submit a project of your own.  Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs, Yvonne

Pretty in Pink

Greetings!  I hope that wherever you are, you are warm and safe. Today, I am sharing with you my Inkspiration piece for the latest Challenge #50 over at Inkspirational.  This time, our challenge is to create a challenge around the Tic Tac Toe Chart above.  For my piece, I chose "flowers, ribbon and pearls." The background paper and images are from Gecko Galz.  A bit of Ranger Stickles adds some sparkle.   I hope you will pop over to Inkspiration to see what the rest of the design team has dreamed up for you and then create a project of your own.  Hugs, Yvonne

Sentimental Travel, Adventure

Greetings!  Thank you for stopping by.  My post tonight is for the newest Challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where the theme is to create a project by layering on at least three stamp images.  I probably took my card one step further by stamping multiple images on three layers! I began by spritzing my card base with a variety of Dylusions Sprays.  The images, all by Paper Artsy, were stamped next onto the prepared card base.  A tag was prepared next using Distress Stains, and the edges were distressed.  More Paper Artsy images were inked onto the tag. The focal image was stamped onto a card stock scrap, dredged through Distress Ink and then distressed around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and mounted onto the tag with foam dots.  A bit of paper string and metal cogs, both by Tim Hotlz' Alterations and some ChitChat Stickers complete my card. I hope you will check out the inspiration pieces of my Design Team Sisters and then create a project of your own.  Our generous sponsor, FlonzCraft, has a $20 gift voucher for one lucky participant.  My card was inspired by a creation by Helen Chilton's piece over at Paper Artsy. I was taken in by her variegated background and her stamp images. Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Blarny!

Greetings!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I really enjoyed working with these newest images from Gecko Galz!  The background paper is called "Green ivy" and is from the "It's Not Easy Being Green" Paper Pack.  I have truly come to appreciate GG's Paper Packs, since giving away most of my on books of background papers.  They are available at a moment's notice and take up no space!  A simple paper doily was layered over the paper and then a variety of images were trimmed and applied from the Gecko Galz "Blarny" Collage Sheet.  Gecko Galz has a February Customer Challenge going on with a chance to win a $25 Shopping Spree!  I hope you will check out the details and consider joining in! Thanks for stopping by today.  Hugs, Yvonne

Pretty in Pink

Greetings!  I can hardly believe we are already in February!  I am away from home, as we are having work done on our main home in an effort to get it ready to put up for sale.  This is the first time that I can remember that I intentionally did not bring my duffle bag along with me!  I do, however, have some cards to share with you this week using February 2014 Gecko Galz Images that were released earlier this week.

For my first card, I began by stamping various images from Finnebair for Prima with Black StazOn Ink onto my card base. Next I layered a white paper heart doily, followed by images from the Darling Girls Collection. The digital image looking on is by Aurora Wings, who is the company chosen by Gecko Galz for the month of February for our Cross Promotional Event.

A bit of black Dresden from Red Lead Stamps, a simple fabric heart sticker I found at the Dollar Tree, a pearl gem and a bit of seam binding fashioned into a bow complete my card.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you will stop back again later this week to see some more of my sample pieces for Gecko Galz!

Valentine, I love you!

A warm hello to each of you!  After a two month hiatus, Eclectic Ellapu is back and kicking us off is the Pink Team!  Our challenge is to create a project using lots of texture.  I LOVE texture on a card and really enjoyed creating this one.  I began with gold embossing paste and stenciled it on using a Tim Holtz Stencil.  Next I layered on a paper doily and some Dresden Trim by Retro Art Cafe.  The gorgeous digital images are from Gecko Galz and finishing touches include some rhinestone heart gems and a bit of seam binding tied into a bow.  The sentiment was created using ChitChat Seasonal Stickers.  Please enjoy the inspiration pieces of the rest of the Pink Team and I hope you will submit a piece of your own for us to enjoy.  Have a great weekend!  Hugs, Yvonne

Play it Again, Sam!

Greetings!  Today, I am sharing a card I made for the current challenge over at Inkspirational where the  bi-weekly theme is to create a card "CASEing" a card you find on "my" blog!  Wow!  I am really excited to see what each of you come up with for your own project.  I decided to create my card above by CASEing the card below.

I followed the layout of my previous card and again used embossing paste which I tinted with Dusty Concord Distress Paint and pressed through a Tim Hotlz Stencil, which replicates the netting of the focal image's hat.  The gorgeous digital images are all from Gecko Galz.  Touches of gold, with embellishments from my stash, and a red violet seam binding bow complete my card.

I hope you will pop over to Inkspirational and see what the rest of the Design Team has created and that you will be inspired to create a project of your own.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hugs, Yvonne
